Landscape design for Founder’s Place

RSA have been working with Terry Farrell for an exciting new vision for Founder’s Place which is being proposed by the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, together with the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and the Evelina Family Trust.

The proposals for the scheme include housing for key worker staff at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, a new health facility, Ronald McDonald House – free accommodation for the families of sick children being treated in the new Evelina Children’s Hospital and accommodation for the Charity’s long-term tenants. These buildings form part of a wider regeneration scheme for this area of Lambeth.

RSA have developed a design that provides larger areas of secure, well-lit public space by extending pavements and creating shared road surfaces, where pedestrians will have priority. Greening of the streets and courtyard spaces will be a major priority, using native tree and shrub species wherever possible. Courtyard gardens will be provided for Ronald McDonald House and all the private flats bordering Archbishop’s Park.
