Garden design in Holland Park, London

This garden was designed to create a traditional Victorian English garden to meet the specific tastes and requirements of the client, with a high level of input from Alain Bouvier Associates.

The proportions of the design are reminiscent of, and inspired by, the great gardens of the Victorian era. The design incorporated existing level changes and allowed for a generous, partially covered entertaining space that would be linked harmoniously with the house. All would be set into a well-conceived framework of gardens.

The layout was designed to offer inviting views from the house into the garden and create a strong atmosphere and intimacy within a series of well-integrated spaces with a series of focal points as you move through the garden.

The design included strong architectural plant forms to provide year round evergreen structure and impact. These have been planted together with less formal soft planting which serves to prolong seasonal drama in the garden.
