Garden design in Saint Tropez, France

The brief was to create a new garden for an existing country house set in seven acres of arid and derelict land. The extensive works involved terracing the hillside and planting olive groves, lavender, agapanthus and cypresses to promote views across the Mediterranean. The existing swimming pool area was restored to incorporate pergolas and substantial gazebos. Aerial timber walkways have been built through the pinewoods that were dry landscaped in the ‘garrigue’ style.
