Landscape design for Wembley Infrastructure, Olympic Steps

The Infrastructure Phase 3 scope of work focuses on the western land’s public realm. The public realm design aims to create a coherent, high quality hierarchy of routes; with the vehicular dominated tertiary streets accommodating servicing and the pedestrian dominated boulevard forming the public transport route animated with activity and vitality.

Wembley Park Boulevard forms the main axis of the master plan and connects to the stadium’s concourse via a piazza and a generous flight of steps. These steps, named the Portuguese Steps, compliment the Phase 1 Spanish Steps. They are animated with planters and media cubes, forming a piece of the public realm for visitors to enjoy (as well as conforming to stadium evacuation guidelines.
